On a trip to Cape Town in December I visited Hout Bay harbor when the local fishermen were returning with their Snoek catch.
The boats are immediately winched onto trailers and dragged out of the water.
The offloading begins.
Most of the catch is loaded onto waiting pickups, covered in ice and transported to local markets or storage facilities.
Some people buy the Snoek directly from the fishermen and take it home to clean themselves.
For the squeamish, a group of ladies is on hand to clean the fish for them - at a price of course
While a resident seal waits patiently for the scraps..
