It's amazing what you see when you have a camera in your hand and you're looking for images to capture - I must have passed this old pick-up more than a dozen times before I noticed it. It stands slightly off the road and, together with the metal figurines, is used as signpost at the entrance to a farm.
Can you guess what make of vehicle it is?
Yup, you were right, it's an old:
... I have no idea in what year it was made though ...

great photos, we all see things with different eyes when we have a camera in hand.I love the metal figures, scarecrows or signposts?!
ReplyDeleteThanks Peggy - yeah, those figures are meant to complement the car I guess ...
ReplyDeleteWas about to say it looked a bit Austin like to me, but what do I know, when you answered the question:) I would like one of those outside my gate! Diane
ReplyDeleteHehehe Diane ... to be honest, I had no idea what it was until I saw the back of the bakkie ...
ReplyDeleteThe rust does not make it less useful:)) At least it's well decorated and people take notice. Well done, OneStonedCrow!

ReplyDeleteThere was an old Ford truck sitting behind our barn when we bought this place. And it's still sitting there. It's very cool all by itself, but I love the imagination it took to use one as a flower bed. Just great!--Inger
ReplyDeleteHello Inger - yes, it is an imaginative use for and honorable end for an old faithful ...
ReplyDelete... perhaps you can put that old Ford to similar use?
there is a place for everything - truck looks good there with flowers in that open space. But I can imagine the complaints if someone squeezed one into denser suburb.
ReplyDeleteIs that the same Austin that made James Bond's car?
Heya lisleman - you home from your road trip yet?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I can imagine an outcry if you parked one outside your house in the suburbs - but, you never know, if you called it 'recycling' or 'going green' it might start a new trend ...
I'm not sure about the 007 connection but there probably is one ...
What a great old car that is - and the stories it could tell ! (P.S. Wonderful to have you back in 'blogland' again, Crow !)
ReplyDeleteThankee Lynda - it's nice to be back
