Etosha Birds - Part 1
Part one of some of the bird-life I snapped during my last visit to Etosha - I'm not a bird expert and may have misidentified some, but what's in a name anyway? If you think I've made a mistake, please let me know.
Great photos and they look to me like they have the right names. I am much better on African birds than the European ones. The latter are generally much more like LJB's but once one gets used to them them I guess it is easy. Thanks for the African memories. Diane
Thanks Diane - I've a whole file marked "Unidentified Birds" - I struggle a lot with the birds of prey ... I've got two more Etosha bird posts which I'll schedule for when I'm off-line again ...
We both love the procession of ostritches, magic. We are very keen birdwatchers, not twitchers (that is list makers) but will sit for hours just watching, oh to see a few of these in britland!
oh the two pics of the European bee-eater are prize winning. Did you ever think of entering them in National Geographic (American based I know) or some other magazine?
Thanks for the compliment lisleman - yeah, I dunno, I think that the photo resolution is a bit too low to make nice prints or appear in prestigious mags like Nat Geo - if they were 'hot' news images it might me another matter ...
Awesome captures - they are all very well captured, Graham!!!! I love the flyinbg bee-eater as it's not always easy to get a movement capture that still reflects decent enough detail ..... Gena D Thinking Aloud

Heya Sciarada - Thanks for your visit and kind comment - I appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Gena - I have great difficulty photographing birds - that was just a lucky shot ...
Fabulous photos ` all of them. I especially like the one of the two ostriches side by side. They look like two good friends out for a walk, lol.
ReplyDeleteThanks Penny - yeah, they do look like they're just strolling around ... I wonder what they're chatting about?
